Mapping

If it is determined during the consultation that you have large varicose vein disease, you will need to have a more detailed ultrasound evaluation of the abnormal veins in your legs.

We call this a vein mapping. It aids us in determining the optimal treatment plan to meet your specific needs.

What is the purpose of the Mapping?

The mapping gives us a real time and detailed view of your varicose vein system. We use this ultrasound to prepare a comprehensive "venous flow map," which illustrates the path of the blood flowing through the abnormal veins and where the trouble begins.

Patients are often surprised to see how extensive and complicated their varicose veins are beneath the skin. This map depicts details not visible from the surface - details that make treatment safer and more effective.
