The Vein Clinics of America (VCA) story began almost 30 years ago, when a determined doctor set out to treat a personal and family affliction, vein disease. He searched for an effective, non-surgical treatment, and then used the extensive knowledge of injection treatments he had gained to launch VCA in Chicago in 1981. A team of talented health care providers were quickly amassed and became leaders in the field of Phlebology, the medical specialty for treating vein disease. VCA has grown to include over 30 locations and is now the largest medical group in the country dedicated exclusively to the minimally invasive treatment of vein disease. In addition, VCA's leadership and commitment to excellence and innovation in venous disease treatment have helped to elevate Phlebology from a little understood discipline to a medical specialty that the American Medical Association formally recognizes.

VCA's philosophy of patient care is based on complete disease management, from initial screening to treatment to follow-up. VCA views each step in this process as critical to the patient's successful outcome. Vein Clinics of America is also unique among vein treatment centers for its use of mapping and ultrasound prior to and during treatment. This ensures the treatment is on target from the start. Rigorous post-treatment follow up ensures that any residual or emerging issues are quickly identified and managed before the disease worsens.

Vein Clinics of America physicians specialize in Phlebology and are now the nation's largest group of board-certified Phlebologists. They are highly recognized for their published research and some have lectured and trained other doctors around the world in the field of vein treatment. VCA physicians are supported by a skilled multidisciplinary team of specially trained nurses and vascular sonographers, all of whom are dedicated to service and excellence in the management of chronic venous disorders.

Today, VCA is a wholly owned subsidiary of IntegraMed America. It is based in Downers Grove, IL and operates in Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Maryland, Missouri, North Carolina, Kansas, Tennessee, Virginia and Wisconsin, Ohio and Pennsylvania.
