I find the work I do at VCA to be extremely rewarding. We're able to provide benefits to our patients which simply aren't available anywhere else.

It is so gratifying to be able to offer a minimally invasive effective treatment for varicose vein disease that makes such a positive impact on a patient's quality of life.

Non-Surgical Treatment Before & After Photos

Our comprehensive, non-surgical approach includes Ultrasound-Guided Sclerotherapy, as well as Endovenous Laser Treatment (ELT).

The average patient requires Sclerotherapy in conjunction with ELT to treat the smaller veins. Consequently, it is essential to choose a treatment provider who is equally skilled in both treatment options to ensure complete, satisfactory and long-term results.

Our refined use of Sclerotherapy, combined with ELT, allows us to meet the needs of all of our patients by treating the smallest spider vein to the largest ropelike varicose vein, and even leg ulcers.

Neither option requires hospitalization or surgery. Instead each is performed in the physician's office. You can be back on your feet resuming normal activities the next day, or even sooner.

Experience Matters

For over 25 years, VCA has specialized in all aspects of varicose vein disease, including varicose veins, spider veins and leg ulcers.

Dr. King opened his family medicine office in 1985. While in private practice, he also served as a faculty member in MacNeal Hospital's Family Practice Residency Program in Berwyn, Illinois. Dr. King has been actively involved in medical education as a Clinical Associate Professor at the Medical School of the University of Illinois and as a Clinical Instructor at Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine and at Rush Medical College of Chicago. He is also an active member of several professional societies and has served on the Medical Advisory and Pharmaceutical committees for the Humana Health Network in the Chicago area.

Upon joining VCA, Dr. Hlavacek underwent extensive training in phlebology, the diagnosis and treatment of varicose vein disease and related disorders. During this time, he was trained in ultrasound-guided foam sclerotherapy. This is an advanced form of sclerotherapy, where a foamed solution is directly injected into the varicose vein, causing it to close off. He is also proficient in Endovenous Laser Treatment, or ELT. ELT is a minimally invasive laser treatment that requires no hospitalization and no complicated surgery.

They are supported by an exceptional clinical and administrative team dedicated exclusively to the treatment of chronic venous disorders.
