Dr. Phil Rumbaoa graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles and received his medical degree from the University of Kansas. He is board certified in family medicine, having served his residency at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas.

Prior to joining Vein Clinics of America (VCA), Dr. Rumbaoa held staff emergency physician positions at Cooper County Memorial Hospital in Boonville, Missouri and at Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg. He has served as a clinical faculty member for the University of Kansas Department of Family Medicine and the University of Missouri Departments of Family Medicine and Emergency Medicine. He has also practiced as a solo family physician in Boonville.

Dr. Rumbaoa is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, the Missouri Academy of Family Physicians, and the American College of Sports Medicine.

Dr. Rumbaoa is highly accomplished in Endovenous Laser Treatment, or ELT. Laser technology, known for its precision, safety, and simplicity, is now available for the treatment of varicose veins, and was FDA-approved for this indication in 2002. VCA extensively reviewed this procedure for its safety and efficacy before introducing it to its patients.

He is also proficient in VCA’s published research protocol, COMPASS™ (Comprehensive Objective Mapping, Precise Image Guided Injection, Anti-reflux Positioning and Sequential Sclerotherapy).

In a leading vascular journal, COMPASS ™ was described as a “safe and highly efficacious” technique in the management of extensive large vein disease.
