Vein Clinics of America Welcomes Dr. Jiyong Ahn to North Haven Clinic
Vein Clinics of America is excited to announce the arrival of Jiyong Ahn, M.D. as the lead physician at the brand-new North Haven, CT Clinic set to open Thursday, October 27th.
Dr. Ahn has undergone extensive training in phlebology and is well-versed in the various treatments for venous disease. He graduated from Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York where he completed his residency and chief residency in diagnostic radiology. From there, Dr. Ahn underwent a fellowship training in cardiovascular interventional radiology at Cornell Medical Center in New York, NY.
For the past two years, Dr. Ahn has been a traveling physician with Vein Clinics of America, serving patients mostly along the East Coast. Prior to his work with VCA, Dr. Ahn was the Head of Research & Development with Isaac Medical Device and also previously held faculty positions at Mount Sinai Medical Center and Albany Medical Center. While in White Plains, NY, he was the Attending Chief of Interventional Radiology at White Plains Hospital. His vast research and practical background are only a small part of what makes Dr. Ahn a perfect fit for the Vein Clinics of America family.
Outside of his work with VCA, family and faith are two important aspects of Dr. Ahn’s everyday life. Dr. Ahn has attended mission trips with his church, Bethany United Methodist in Wayne, NJ, every year since 2010. His travels have taken him to a number of locations around the globe, such as Kenya and Cambodia, to practice general medicine in disadvantaged communities. His most recent trip brought him deep into the jungles of Panama. When he is not on mission trips or assisting patients stateside, Dr. Ahn enjoys spending as much time as possible with his family and eight-year-old son.
Dr. Ahn believes that venous disease and treatment therapies are extremely misunderstood and therefore underserved. He is thankful for the opportunity to better educate his patients about the negative impact of neglecting vein issues and help them improve their overall physical health.
