Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. This Privacy Policy is subject to the Terms and Conditions posted on this Site and may be amended without notice. Any changes to this Privacy Policy will be effective immediately upon the posting of the revised Privacy Policy on this site. Site users are encouraged to periodically check this policy to see if any changes have been made that may affect them. By using the Vein Clinics of America (VCA) site, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy.
Personal-identifying information is data that can be used to identify or contact you. VCA collects the personal-identifying information you provide to us through web pages at https://www.veinclinics.com (the “Site”), such as when you request information about the VCA’s services, or when you use certain services provided by the Site, such as making an appointment by completing an inquiry form, emailing general inquiries to the practice engaging in a chat or registering for a sweepstakes or contest. All personal-identifying information, however collected, is used for quality control, marketing purposes and supplying the services requested by the user. This Privacy Policy does not apply to any other data, including, without limitation, data that VCA may collect on websites that are linked to the Site. The website chat function is outsourced to a third party vendor. The chat function is conducted via Secure Sockets Layer (SSL). SSL are cryptographic protocols that provide security for communications over networks such as the Internet. Chat transcripts are then transferred to VCA via a secure lead delivery mechanism. The third party then purges all personal-identifying information and chat transcripts from its system.
VCA reserves the right to disclose any personally identifying or non-personal identifying information if we are required to do so by law or if we reasonably believe that such action is necessary in order to: fulfill a government request, conform with the requirements of the law or to comply with legal process served on us; protect against misuse or unauthorized use of the Site; transfer to a successor entity in connection with a corporate merger, consolidation, sale of assets or other corporate change respecting VCA or this Site; protect or defend the legal rights or property of VCA, this Site or its users; or, in an emergency, to protect the health and safety of this Site’s users or the general public.
We may also collect non-personal-identifying information through the use of “cookies”, which are small text files stored on your computer’s hard drive or web server and are used to aid in web page navigation. VCA does not store any personal identifying information in any cookies on your hard drive. Site users have the option whether or not to accept cookies by resetting their web browsers to give notice when a cookie is being sent to their hard drive. Cookies may also be deleted from a hard drive, however, some parts of this Site may not function properly or may be slowed considerably if cookies are not accepted or disabled.
This Site is not intended for use by minors. VCA does not knowingly allow anyone under the age of 14 to participate in any activity on the Site. VCA does not provide services outside of the United States. If you are located outside of the United States, by submitting information to VCA you are consenting to our processing of your data in the United States in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
The VCA website may use third party network advertisers to serve advertisements on other websites designated by the third party network and may use a traffic measurement service to analyze traffic on the website. Network advertisers are third parties that display advertisements based on your visits to the VCA website and other web sites you have visited. Third-party ad serving enables VCA to target advertisements to you for services offered by VCA in which you might be interested. Although advertisers and other companies do not have access to cookies set by the website, the websites third party ad network providers, the advertisers, the sponsors, and/or traffic measurement services may themselves set and access their own cookies on your device if you choose to have cookies enabled in your browser or they may otherwise have access to non-personal identifying information.
These third party cookies are set to, among other things, help deliver advertisements to you that you might be interested in, to conduct research regarding the usefulness of certain advertisements to you. Note that any images (or any other parts of a web page) served by third parties in association with third party cookies may serve as web beacons. Used in combination with cookies, a Web beacon is an often-transparent graphic image, usually no larger than 1 pixel x 1 pixel, that is placed on a Web site or in an e-mail that records an end-user’s visit to a particular web page.
A Web beacon can be detected by viewing the source code of a Web page and looking for any IMG tags that load from a different server than the rest of the site. Turning off the browser’s cookies will prevent Web beacons from tracking the user’s activity. The Web beacon will still account for an anonymous visit, but the user’s unique information will not be recorded. Third party cookies and web beacons are governed by each third party’s specific privacy policy, therefore VCA is not responsible for the privacy policies or practices of any third parties.
VCA may share non-personal identifying information, such as aggregate user statistics, demographic information, and web site usage information with third parties. VCA employ third parties to perform functions on our behalf; examples include hosting or operating the website, sending e-mail and/or other communications, providing wireless services, removing repetitive information from customer lists, data analysis, marketing assistance, and customer service. These third parties may have access to your personal-identifying information for the purpose of performing such functions on VCA’s behalf. A Notice of Privacy Practices pursuant to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (“HIPAA”) is made available at the time any prospective or actual patient first receives services from VCA.
VCA takes reasonable steps to ensure the security of its website infrastructure and data, however we make no guarantees or warranties concerning the security of any information you disclose or transmit to us online and cannot be responsible for the theft, destruction or inadvertent disclosure of personal- identifiable information.
The Site may contain links to other web sites that VCA does not own or control. VCA does not endorse the content on any third-party websites and is not responsible for the content of linked third-party sites, sites framed within the VCA Site, the privacy practices employed by third-party sites, or third-party advertisements, and does not make any representations regarding their content or accuracy. Your use of third-party websites is at your own risk and subject to the terms and conditions of use for such sites. VCA does not endorse any product advertised on the VCA Site.
In the course of developing VCA’s business, VCA may buy or sell assets. If another entity acquires VCA or all or substantially all of its assets, personally identifiable information and other information collected from users of the Site may be transferred to the entity as one of the transferred assets. If any bankruptcy or reorganization proceeding is brought by or against VCA, all such information may be considered an asset of VCA and as such may be sold or transferred to third parties.
